General theme options
This part of customizer will include settings regarding custom sidebar, under construction, page scroll, 404 page, scroll to top, image meta data, portfolio url slug, search block settings.
Please navigate to WordPress Admin > Appearance > Customize > General Theme Options. You will have below settings.

1. Custom Sidebar
Under this setting, you will be able to register new sidebars. Click “Add More” button under custom sidebars section. One text box will appear, now enter the name of the sidebar you wanted to add and click on the “Publish” button. If you want to add another sidebars just click on the “Add More” button once again. You can also remove the added sidebars by clicking “Remove” button next to it. You can add widgets in these sidebars at Appearance > Widgets and then use / assign these sidebars in your website in various WP customizer settings.
2. Under Construction
You can manage under construction page from here. POFO provides two controls for the under construction page in customizer.
- Under Construction – ON/OFF.
- Under Construction Page – Select particular page to show as under construction page.
Under Construction
You can put your website in under construction / maintenance mode by clicking ON button. If you select ON then website visitors will be redirected to the under construction page directly. But if you are logged in as admin then you will be able to view your website pages.
Under Construction Page
This option will be visible only if you have set Under Construction “ON”. This will give you functionality to choose under construction page for your site. When your site is in under construction or maintenance mode, users will be redirected to this page. If you have imported demo data then you will have predefined under construction page and you can choose it or can create and assign your own page also.
3. Page Scroll
POFO provide an option of smooth scroll for scrolling effect. You can choose between default scroll or smooth scroll. Click on the “On” under Page Smooth Scroll and you will get a smooth scrolling effect in site.
4. 404 Page
POFO has functionality to customize the 404 error page for your site. Find “404 Page” section under “General Theme Options” and you will get settings for your 404 page as mentioned below.

Background Image
Please follow below steps to set background image.
Step 1: You can select background image for 404 page by clicking “select image” button.
Step 2: Upload image to this media library by clicking to “Upload Files” button then select image or you can select image directly from the existing images. After selecting image click on the “select” button.
Step 3: Click on the “Publish” button and you will be able to see the background image on your 404 error page.
Thumbnail Size
You can select desired size of background image for the 404 Page from given options, either original image or any thumbnail version.
Title
You can set Title of the page from here. Write the text under “Title” text box and click on the “publish” button to save changes.
Title Text Case
There is option to alter the title text case. Choose any option from drop-down provided under “Title Text Case”. Options are as mentioned below.
Uppercase – Convert all letters to uppercase.
Lowercase – Convert all letters to lowercase.
Capitalize – Convert first letter of each word to uppercase.
Normal – No changes
Subtitle
Same as title, you can set subtitle of the page from here. Write the text under “Subtitle” text box and click on the “publish” button to save changes.
Subtitle Text Case
There is option to alter the subtitle text case. Choose any option from drop-down provided under “Subtitle Text Case”. Options are as mentioned below.
Uppercase – Convert all letters to uppercase.
Lowercase – Convert all letters to lowercase.
Capitalize – Convert first letter of each word to uppercase.
Normal – No changes
Content
Content part will goes here. You will get text area under “Content” where you can write the description you want to show under subtitle on site.
Home Button
You can enable / disable the button that will redirect user to the home link by choosing “On / Off” button.
Button Text
You can set button text of “Home Button” by changing text box value of button text.
Button Text Case
It will work same as subtitle text Case and title text case. Please refer settings “Subtitle Text Case” or “Title Text Case” for more information.
Button URL
You can set URL of the home button from here. Write new url under “Button URL” text box and click on the “Publish” button to change the button redirect URL.
Search Field
You can enable or disable the search field by selecting “On / Off” under Search field. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Title Color
This feature will let you alter the font-color of the title. Click on to the “Select Color” button and choose color from available options. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Subtitle Color
This feature will let you alter the font-color of the subtitle. Click on to the “Select Color” button and choose color from available options. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Content Color
This feature will let you alter the font-color of the content. Click on to the “Select Color” button and choose color from available options. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Content Background Color
This feature will let you alter the color of the content background. Click on to the “Select Color” button and choose color from available options. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Background Color
This feature will let you change the background color. Click on to the “Select Color” button and choose color from available options. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Opacity
You can change the opacity of the background color from the available options under “Opacity” drop-down.
5. Scroll To Top
This is the feature to add an icon at bottom of the page which will be auto visible upon down scroll and once clicked user can go to top of the page with smooth scroll. Below are the settings to manage this feature.

Scroll to Top
You can display or hide link for scroll to top by choosing “On / Off” button under scroll to top. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Button Color
This feature will let you change the button color of scroll to top. Click on to the “Select Color” button and choose color from available options. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Button Hover Color
You can change the color of scroll to top button on hover. Click on to the “Select Color” button and choose color from available options. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Button Background Color
You can change the background color of scroll to top button. Click on to the “Select Color” button and choose color from available options. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Button Hover Background Color
You can change the background color of scroll to top button on hover. Click on to the “Select Color” button and choose color from available options. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
6. Image Meta data
POFO provide some functions to set visibility for image alt, title and caption attributes by check marking below options. Settings will be as follows.
- Alt
- Title
- Title in Lightbox Popup
- Caption in Lightbox Popup
Alt
This feature allows you to show alter text of image if path of image is not found. Click on “On / Off” button to “enable / disable” the alt text. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Title
This feature adds title in image. Click on “On / Off” button to “enable / disable” the alt text. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Title in Lightbox Popup
You can show title in image popup by clicking “On” button under Title in Lightbox Popup. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
Caption in Lightbox Popup
You can show caption in image popup by clicking “On” button under caption in lightbox popup. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
7. Portfolio URL Slug
POFO provides custom post type for Portfolio and by default it will add portfolio keyword in URL slug of portfolio category, tag and detail pages. But in case if you want to use any other word instead of portfolio in URL slug then you can do it here. You can find 3 different text boxes as follows. After updating slug in this setting please go to WP Admin > Settings > Permalinks and click “Save Changes” button to have this new url slug change affected in your overall site.

Portfolio URL Slug
You can rewrite the portfolio slug by adding text in the provided text box under Portfolio URL Slug. It will replace “/portfolio/” in URL with “/<your_text>/”.
Categories URL Slug
You can rewrite the portfolio category slug by adding text in the provided text box under Portfolio URL Slug. It will replace “/portfolio-category/” in URL with “/<your_text>/”.
Tags URL Slug
You can rewrite the portfolio tag slug by adding text in the provided text box under Portfolio URL Slug. It will replace “/portfolio-tags/” in URL with “/<your_text>/”.
8. Search Block Settings
Here you can find setting for the placeholder text of the search box. You can change the placeholder text of search text box by entering new text in text box under placeholder text. Click on the “Publish” button to save the changes.
